Fishtank is a high-energy professional touring band for hire, playing both cover songs and original rock music. The bands repertoire covers the most popular rock hits from the 70’s to today, including party classics like Wilson Picket and Van Morrison, rock classics like the Rolling Stones and Doors, college favorites like Dave Matthews and Blues Traveler, and hits pulled right off of the current radio charts.

Fishtank is lead by Mike Renna on lead vocals and piano.

Mike Renna and his band have been thrilling audiences for over ten years. As an accomplished piano player and singer, drawing easy comparisons to legends like Billy Joel and Elton John, Mike’s charismatic brand of entertainment is a major stand-out among the massive numbers of musical acts working today. Mike studied music at the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, a significant distinction among professional musicians, revered for its highly selective admissions and the mind-blowing performers it produces. The alumni list is long and distinguished including musical greats like Bruce Hornsby, Quincy Jones, Steve Vai, Branford Marsalis, Melissa Etheridge and many, many more. The school offered Mike the ability to learn from the best by providing master classes given by some of the top artists in the industry. The end result is a performer with not only mastery of his instruments and music, but with the ability to command and captive an audience as well. During his tenure in Boston, Mike continued to refine his skills on stages throughout the northeast, performing an unbelievable 500+ gigs in three years. His experience runs the gamut of venues including dueling piano shows, original rock shows, club gigs, studio recording, and elite private functions. During this time, The Mike Renna Band spent several years as the house band at Dick’s Last Resort in downtown Boston, performing six shows a week and helping guide the night spot to record revenues. Mike was a well-known fixture in the historic city’s nightlife, receiving regular recognition in the Boston Globe and Improper Bostonian. Additionally, Mike was a regular solo performer at Boston’s historical Durgan Park, entertaining audiences with his incredible piano playing, stunning voice and endless repertoire.

Upon his return to Atlanta, Mike reassembled his band with talented players from the south. These included his longtime friend, Donovan Lara, an equally talented drummer, known throughout the southeast for his work with Cool Beans. Donovan, having played drums for twenty five years, has developed incredible proficiency on his instrument. His personality and sense of humor add just another dimension to the exciting mix. Mike found Mark Domzalski, his current guitar player, in another area band called the Catdaddies, a well-known name in the southeast. Mark’s incredible skill and musicality made him a tremendous find and now a major asset to FishTank. The youngest member of FishTank is Chris Price on bass. Although only recently out of college, Chris has already chalked up major us tours, most recently with RadioDaze. Chris’ proficiency on bass and all-around musicality made him a perfect choice for FishTank.

FishTank is not just a name for the new band, but a whole new concept. It’s about simple fun. FishTank isn’t just a musical act, but an interactive party. It’s the raw and interactive fun of a piano bar, combined with the versatility and solid musical base of a full rock/pop/dance band. The style and strength of Mike’s leadership as well as the band’s chemistry and interplay create an amazing show. The contests, games and engaging audience interactions, ensure a great time for everyone. FishTank is an “anything can happen” type of band that continues to wow audiences with their outrageous antics, musicality, variety and sheer fun.
